As an award winning portrait artist with a photography studio located in the heart of downtown Waconia, Minnesota, I utilize over 15 years of experience along with a degree in professional photography field. I love blending photojournalist storytelling with modern portraiture to create stunning images that clients love and cherish forever. My work has been featured in local publications as well as in the homes of wonderful clients.
I am an active member in the photography community as I served on the Twin Cities Professional Photographers Association board for 6 years. I was also the 2011 President of the organization, which held over 350 members, whose mission statement is to provide photographers education from top educators throughout the country. Along with being a active member in the photography community, I am also a proud Rotarian in the Waconia community and an active member of the Waconia Chamber of Commerce. I love being the counselor to the Rotary exchange students who live here from around the world.
In my personal life, I have been married for 13 years to a kind, supportive, and fun loving husband Martin. We share in the joy of raising our son together, along with our kitty Zoey. My free time is spent being with my family and friends. We could be out on the town or simply watching tv in our living room. I enjoy listening to music and attending live concerts. Minneapolis has one of the best music scenes in the country!
With all the above said, I feel my business isn't necessarily about me but rather about the lives of my clients. Through my clients, I enjoy investing my time and energy into capturing their lives and their special milestones. I am so blessed to have a wonderful career that allows me to capture people in their times of celebration and change. I love the feeling of giddy joy when clients show me photos of their portraits hung proudly on their walls or display on their coffee table, the time spent getting to know my clients and what they they love from life, and best-of-all the honor of becoming part of the family (wether it be on a wedding day or a session) where you get hugs at the end of a day well spent. Moments like these are what truly matters to me and my biggest badge of honor in my career.
